Monday 20th March 2023 - Parish Church of the Ascension Main Hall 8pm - 10:30pm Bring and Share refreshments
Like many things in life, some Scottish Country Dances are popular for a short time then disappear never to be seen again. Others, like Mairi's Wedding, are perpetual favourites. Somewhere in between lies a third group of dances that were standards for many years and then, just when it seems like they would be gracing our programmes forever, they too vanish from the scene.
Tonight we will be re-visiting a few of these and can decide whether their fall from grace was justified or whether any deserve more outings.
The last season each dance was done at Wembley is shown in brackets.
